2022 Honda Civic Review, Pricing, and Specs
The Honda Civic 2023 line has been replenished with the top-end sports version Type R. The new generation of the charged hatchback will go on sale in Japan, the USA, and Europe from the beginning of next year. Details of the model were revealed on the official Honda website.
Honda Civic Type R specifications
So far, only approximate characteristics of the Honda Civic Type R have been declassified. It is known that the hatchback remained front-wheel drive and retained the 2.0-liter turbo engine of its predecessor but became more powerful – output exceeded 320 hp. With. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 5 seconds, and the top speed is 270 km/h. After the discontinuation of the NSX supercar, this is the most powerful and fastest Honda.
The new Honda Civic Type R continues to be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Traditionally, the suspension has been modified, and Brembo brakes have been installed. At the famous Nürburgring circuit, the hatchback set a lap record among front-wheel drive cars.
The interior now has pedal pads and a new gearshift lever.

The charged hatchback looks more restrained than its predecessor. It can be distinguished from the standard Honda Civic 2022 by its larger front air intake, body kit, and rear wing. In addition, the wheel arches are slightly flared to accommodate 265/30 ZR19 tires. Three wide exhaust pipes are visible at the rear.

Alcantara is used in the interior trim, and the pedals are decorated with aluminum pads. The new Honda Civic Type R received sports bucket front seats and a unique metal gearshift lever.

You can buy a Honda Civic Type R for about $40,000. Notably, this is the last purely gasoline model of the Japanese brand; all subsequent Hondas will be hybrids or electric vehicles.
